Cultivating Leaders: MMMA’s Silver and Bronze Star Cadets Shine Bright!

The life of a seaman demands not only academic prowess but also exceptional leadership, discipline, and physical fortitude. At the MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy (MMMA), we rigorously train our cadets to embody these very qualities, preparing them to be exemplary marino on the world’s oceans. We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our maritime cadets who have reached the pinnacle of leadership and fitness excellence, as recognized by the esteemed Silver and Bronze Star Awards.

The Silver Standard of Leadership:

Last March 24, 2025, during the morning colors held at the MMMA Quadrangle, a total of ninety-five (95) cadets from Batch 2022, 2023, and 2024 were bestowed with the prestigious Silver Star Award. This recognition is a testament to their outstanding leadership service during the First Semester of A.Y. 2024-2025.

Achieving the Silver Star is no easy feat. These cadets garnered an overall average grade of 95% across all leadership categories, including at least a 90% score for their CLDP grades, robust leadership assessments from their roles, a comprehensive 360-degree peer evaluation from their classmates, a thorough formation officer’s evaluation, a spotless conduct record, and a passing physical fitness test.

The Silver Star has always been one of the hardest goals a cadet can achieve, making these awardees true role models. Their accomplishments vividly demonstrate how well-shaped and disciplined they are in their leadership service, reflecting the high standards of seamanship instilled at MMMA. Huge congratulations to all Silver Star awardees!

Bronze Star: Honoring Physical Prowess for the Pinoy Marino:

Equally vital to a successful career at sea is physical fitness. Acknowledging this, the Bronze Star Award was also presented to deserving cadets during the same morning colors ceremony. A total of 41 cadets from Batch 2022, 68 from Batch 2023, and 28 from Batch 2024 received this significant award.

This recognition is a powerful testament to the commitment of MMMA cadets to maintaining peak physical condition as they rigorously prepare for their demanding life at sea. Achieving physical fitness is just as important as maritime academic excellence for a pinoy marino, ensuring they are ready for any challenge the maritime profession may present.

To all our Silver and Bronze Star awardees, your dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence are truly inspiring. You embody the qualities that make a great seaman, and we are incredibly proud to see you setting such high standards for yourselves and your peers. Keep striving for greatness!
